Today, August 30, 2013 (Friday), “Ilinden” Barracks in Skopje accommodated a duty transfer ceremony of the commanding officer at the Special Operations Regiment.
The duty was transferred between Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski and Colonel Vasko Gjurchinovski, who was posted as an Adjutant to the President of the Republic of Macedonia. The ceremony welcomed the Minister of Defense Thalat Djaferi, Deputy Chief of the General staff of the ARM, Lieutenant General Naser Sejdini, Joint Operations Command Commander, Major General Metodija Velichkovski, representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the General staff, commanding officers from the subordinate units and commands and other guests. In his address to the present, minister Djaferi congratulated the new duties to the General Arsoski and Colonel Gjurchinovski, expressed his pleasure to be present at a duty transfer ceremony of the Special Operations Regiment Commanding Officer, a unit that unifies everything that is connected to the ARM today, pinpointing the professionalism, discipline, motivation and patriotism as the attributes that decorate the members of this unit.
General Sejdini in his address to the new commander of the SOR noted that it is imperative to continue with the further training and equipping of the SOR, thus retaining the rating “Always the best” and as the best warranty for that he stated the capability, knowledge and military education of the unit members.
The former SOR commander, Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski said that it is a privilege to command with a unit such as the SOR and that every task is executed with a maximum quality and every new challenge is met with even higher performance based on the acquired professionalism.
The new SOR commander, Colonel Vasko Gjurchinovski noted that the time, social conditions and the security challenges oblige us to continue with a complete dedication towards the achievement of our national goals and that our state and military leadership have a complete respect and trust in the SOR as the most elite unit of the ARM, which oblige us to justify this trust from our superiors.
The former SOR commander, Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski is appointed as a commander of the First Infantry Mechanized Brigade within the JOC by the President of the Republic of Macedonia. In the 20 years of development, ARM Special Forces by execution of many challenges, missions and tasks, gave a strong seal to the ARM professionalism, thus building a strong tradition and cult of the unit worthy of respect.
