Today, 7th May (Wednesday) at Ilinden Barracks, the Day of the Military Police Battalion and the Police ForceS was celebrated. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence Emil Dimitriev, Deputy Chief of ARM GS Lieutenant General Naser Sejdini, MoD State Secretary Sasho Stefanovski, Commander of the Joint Operations
Command (JOC), Major General Metodija Velichkovski and other MoD and ARM GS distinguished guests. The Deputy Minister of Defence Dimitriev in his speech said that the Military Police Battalion in the period of the past 22 years has developed alongside with other ARM units accomplishing its everyday tasks and duties like securing the military facilities of the Ministry of Defence and the ARM General Staff, securing individuals and delegations, regulating the military traffic of the ARM units, locating and apprehending military personnel who have committed a criminal offence. Thus the unit’s motto “Always Ready” demonstrates that the service personnel have shown quality, professionalism and above all have accomplished their tasks and duties in a secure manner.
Dimitriev, addressing the service personnel of the Military Battalion, highlighted the participation of the members of the this battalion as declared unit in the “Fenix” forces in ISAF in Afghanistan, which is another proof of the units readiness, since the selection criteria to join the unit is similar to the one used in the Special Forces.
The Military Police Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Taseski said that the modern and mobile unit he commands participates, in accordance with the Operational Capabilities Concept, with one certified company and platoon, and both have shown high readiness accomplishing their tasks, side by side with the service personnel of partner countries and NATO.
A congratulation note by the Chief of ARM General Staff was read at the ceremony, as well as stimulation measures for the Military Police service personnel. The Military Police service personnel upon the occasion organized sports competitions, blood donor event, and donated food to the children’s clinic “Kozle” in Skopje.
The Day of the Police Forces and Security, in ARM was celebrated by the members of the Intelligence and Security units of the J-2 and C-2 sections in all ARM commands and units.
