The Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, as a member of the state delegation led by President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, participates at the NATO Summit taking place in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands, yesterday and today The delegation also includes the Minister of Defence, Vlado Misajlovski, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski.
Convened at the invitation of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the Summit is focused on key issues related to the security and defense of the Alliance. Particulate attention is being given to the proposal to increase the percentage of national GDP allocated by member countries for defense, the commitment to rapidly expand transatlantic defense industry cooperation, and the utilization of new technologies and innovations to strengthen collective security.
General Lafchiski took part in yesterday’s working dinner for the Chiefs of Defense of NATO member countries, hosted by the Chief of Defense of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, General Onno Eichelsheim.
At the NATO Summit in The Hague, the Heads of State and Government of the member countries once again reaffirmed their strong commitment to NATO and their unwavering dedication to collective defense, as guaranteed by the Washington Treaty.
