The Special Forces Battalion, in accordance with the measures and protocols for preventing the spread of the “Covid 19” virus, in a symbolic way marked March 1 – Unit Day, the day, 27 years ago, when the first unit for special purposes was formed which was the first professional unit in the Army.
The Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Army, Major General Azim Nuredin, congratulating the Day of the Special Forces Battalion, stressed that the professionalism, results and awards received for the many successfully completed tasks and missions represent the Army in the best light at home and internationally.
“In a few days we will mark the first anniversary of our full NATO membership, which is an additional motive to continue to meet the conditions and requirements expected from us, in order to justify our membership and prove that we are worthy military professionals and are ready to manage all possible situations.”- added General Nuredin in his address.
The commander of the Special Forces Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Oliver Zariovski said that the members of this unit are recognizable for their readiness to be the first to face the challenges and that is why their motto is “always and everywhere first”.
On the occasion of the Unit Day, incentives were awarded to members of the battalion who achieved special results in the work in the past period.
The Special Forces Battalion is the bearer of the traditions of the day when the first special unit of the Army was formed on March 1, 1994.
