In the period from 1st to 3rd November 2022, in the barracks Ilinden in Skopje, the Engineer Battalion and the Vermont National Guard’s 572nd Brigade carried out a mutual activity in accordance with the Military Contact Program (Mil-to-Mil).
The activity began with a presentation given to the representatives of the Vermont National Guard on the organization-formation structure of the Engineer Battalion, significant activities carried out in the past years, as well as about the activities of the Declared Engineer Platoon, which is part of the Light Infantry Battle Group (LIBG).
During the visit, in the Engineer Battalion premises, a workshop on preparation of SOP for the LIBG platoon was organized, as well as a demonstration of the material-technical means for demining. A tactical demonstration exercise – “Clearing a section of the road” was also performed in the Ilinden barracks.
The visit paid to the Engineer Battalion by the members of the Vermont National Guard’s 572nd Brigade was organized and coordinated by the US Office of Defense Cooperation and the Army.
Besides the members of the Engineer Battalion and the members of the Vermont National Guard’s 572nd Brigade, representatives from the US Army 4.SFAB (Security Force Assistance Brigade), who have been with the Engineer Unit since November 15th, 2021, as part of the experiences exchange, joint training and assistance program, also took part in the activity.
