At the military barracks Strasho Pindzur, Petrovec, there was a military ceremony today, marking the commencement of tenure of service as Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade within the Operations Command (OC).
The President of the Republic of North Macedonia and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, signed a decree and promoted Colonel Dejan Chiplakovski to Brigadier General and granted him tenure of service as Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade. Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski worked as Chief of Center for Developing Doctrine, Regulations, Instructions and Lessons Learned within the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). During his military career he has done many commanding and staff duties.
The Chief of Staff of the Operations Command (OC), Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski and the newly appointed Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski addressed the guests.
“To be the Commander of the unit which is the pride of the Army and which has units stationed all over the country is more of a challenge. It means to walk boldly facing real challenges, to tackle serious problems, to manage many processes, to maintain continuous functioning of the command and control system, and above all to ensure high level of combat readiness”, said General Gjorgoski in his speech. General Gjorgoski congratulated the incoming Brigade Commander on his appointment and recommend he continue fighting for new and higher achievements, as his predecessors have done by using his knowledge, skills and experience. In that process he is to bear in mind service personnel’s motivation which is the largest capital in the Brigade and in the Army.
Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski addressed the guests expressing his gratitude to the state and military management for trusting him. In addition, he expressed his gratitude to his previous and present superior officers who used their knowledge and experience to support, mentor and lead him through his military career. He said that he would actively work in accordance with the constitution and the laws, in order to contribute to the preservation of the freedom and sovereignty of our country.
Ceremonial handing over of the military flag of the unit done by the Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, completed the official ceremony of receiving the appointment of the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade.
There were a lot of guests at today’s ceremony including, the Chief of the General Staff Major General Sashko Lafchiski , the Deputy Minister of Defense, Elfete Ismaili, the OC Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, active and retired Generals of the Army, representatives of the Army, Ministry of Defense, and military diplomatic corps, and previous unit Commanders.
