On 12.09.2020, in the camp Marmal, in Mazar-e Sharif at the Train Advise Assist Command – North (TAAC-N) in Afghanistan, a ceremony was held for lowering the flags of the countries that are leaving the area of responsibility at TAAC-N. The ceremony was held in accordance with the measures for protection from the COVID-19 virus.
The ceremony was attended by the Commander of TAAC-N, Brigadier General Ansgar Meyer, representative of the German consulate in Afghanistan, the national representatives of the countries who have their participants in TAAC-N, as well as representatives of the Command of TAAC-N.
TAAC-N Commander held a speech, and after the speech there was a special ceremony for lowering the flags of the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Croatia, Montenegro and the Republic of North Macedonia which were then handed to the national representatives –officers in charge from the previously mentioned countries.
The national anthems of the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Croatia, Montenegro and the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as the NATO anthem were played during the ceremony. This marks the end of the mission of the Macedonian contingent “MAKKON-12” in the camp Marmal, Mazar-e Sharif in TAAC-N.
