The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, commenced his official trip to the United Kingdom (UK) with a visit to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. During the visit, General Lafchiski held a meeting with the Commandant of the Academy, Brigadier General Nick White-Boycott. The meeting included an exchange of views on the development of military education in both armies, the challenges facing military education in today’s complex geopolitical environment, and the potential for future cooperation, including the possibility of sending cadets and officers from the Army for training at this prestigious Academy.
The Deputy Commandant of the Academy held a briefing for General Lafchiski, during which he explained the military education and training system in the UK, the various pathways to becoming an officer, and the current educational programs offered at the Academy.
The visit to Sandhurst concluded with a historical tour of the premises, providing insight into the rich traditions and customs of the Academy’s cadets, as well as a look at the training and accommodation facilities.
In the following two days, General Lafchiski will participate in the Land Warfare Conference, and attend several meetings with the senior military leadership of the UK Armed Forces.
