Today, at military barracks NH Strasho Pindzur in Petrovec a military ceremony was held, on the occasion of marking 15 October – Day of Air Surveillance and Reporting Battalion (ASRBn), of the AF VING.
The ceremony was attended by the AF VING Commander, Colonel Igorcho Stoimenovski, Deputy Commander of 1st Infantry Brigade, Colonel Stevan Naumoski, Deputy Commander of the AF VING, Colonel Igor Chkorov, AF VING chiefs of sections and other guests.
The ceremony was addressed by the unit commander, Lieutenant Colonel Kemal Djaferi, who, thanking and congratulating the personnel for the successes achieved, highlighted the following as key moments of this year: the signing of the Technical Arrangement with the Republic of Italy, as the second NATO country within the NATO air patrol mission in the national airspace; the establishment and opening of the new modern Airspace Command and Control Center and active participation in the NATO air patrol mission in the national airspace.
The AF VING Commander, Colonel Igorcho Stoimenovski also gave a suitable speech. He underlined the importance of the ASRBn for the control of our air space, where coordination of the Air Policing mission is performed by the NATO Alliance. Furthermore, he stated that all previous generations in the ASRBn have invested enormous personal and professional effort in founding and developing of air surveillance. He requested the battalion members to not only keep to those values, but also to continuously improve and upgrade them, as their constant responsibility.
Words of praise from the Chief of the General Staff and Operations Command Commander to battalion members were read, and incentives were given on the occasion of the Unit’s Day.
