As part of the planned training activities of the subunits within Joint Operations Command there was an exercise with Mi-8/17 and Mi-24 Helicopters of the Air Force Brigade (AFB) on the 24th and 25th of June, 2015 at the TA Krivolak.
Cannoning, rocketing and bombing (CRB) from helicopters consists of engaging targets on the ground with unguided rockets from Mi-24 helicopters and Mi-8/17 helicopters with a mounted machinegun. The pilots and the other air crew in the aircraft demonstrate their training through complex procedures of neutralizing targets on the ground in all kinds of weather conditions.
At this exercise, as it has ever been, all targets were neutralized and the activity was graded with “meet the standards”. The successful exercise is due to well trained personnel who had training consisting of theoretical part and practical (fictional rocketing) part, as well as experience and lessons learned from previous similar exercises.
This kind of exercises is part of regular pilots’ training within the training plan of the unit. Continuous training of the pilots of AFB enables them to accomplish complex missions which are part of this kind of unit.
