The Reconnaissance and Intelligence Battalion of the Operations Command conducted a Methodical Demonstration Exercise (MDE) at the Ilinden barracks in Skopje today. The theme was Detection, Location, Identification, and Destruction of a Sabotage-Terrorist Group (STG).
In his address the Commander of the Reconnaissance and Intelligence Battalion (RecceIntelBn), Lieutenant Colonel Zoran Cvetkovski, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them to carry out this exercise and emphasized that it was a special honor and pride to showcase their unit’s capabilities and readiness.
As highlighted during the exercise, the goal was to demonstrate standard operating procedures through realistic field activities in the preparation and execution of an intelligence mission, while raising the level of interoperability between reconnaissance teams and the command structure, and adopting techniques for gathering, processing, and transmitting intelligence information.
The Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, stressed that the purpose of this MDE is not only to present the intelligence capabilities of the RecceIntelBn but also to unite the entire military intelligence community. This aims to underline the critical importance of intelligence preparation of the battlefield as a key tool in establishing combat systems and as one of the most vital factors for the successful organization of military operations.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, expressed his satisfaction with the execution of the exercise and thanked the RecceIntelBn personnel for their efforts, highlighting the high level of professionalism, preparedness, and training of the unit.
In addition to the Chief of the General Staff, and the OC Commander, the MDE was also attended by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin; the Director of the General Staff, Brigadier General Orce Jordev; the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier General Lulzim Nuredini; the Commander of the First Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski; representatives from the Directorate for Security and Intelligence in the Defense; unit commanders; and heads of sections from the General Staff and the Operations Command.
