On 05.06.2015, representatives from the Office for Defense Cooperation at the US Embassy in Macedonia visited the garrison Kicevo.
This was the latest in a series of planned visits to the units of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st MIB) part of the Joint Operations Command, which are located in garrisons in Tetovo, Stip, Kumanovo and Kicevo.
In the delegation from the US Embassy were the US Defense Attache in the Republic of Macedonia Colonel Thomas Butler and other members from the Office for Military Cooperation, accompanied by members of 1st MIB command, and chief NCOs from the General Staff and JOC.
The purpose of visit was to present the equipment purchased with the US FMF fund, as well as members of the unit who were educated in the IMET (International Military Education and Training) program.
During the visit the delegation among other things had the opportunity to get acquainted with the role, task and mission of the units. Following that, meetings with representatives from the unit were held separately.
At the end of the visit exhibition for tactical and technical demonstration of the resources purchased with FMF fund were conducted and the delegation was familiarized with the knowledge of unit’s members about the purposes and characteristics of the equipment.
