Military delegation from the Republic of Bulgaria, led by the Commander of the 68th Special Forces Brigade, Brigadier General Yavor Mateev has a working visit of the Special Operations Regiment (SOR) of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia.
As part of the visit, today at the General Staff of the ARM, the Chief of General Staff of ARM, Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski welcomed the Commander of the 68th Special Forces Brigade and they discussed the current cooperation in the area of training, as well as the possibilities for improvement of the cooperation in the performance of joint exercises.
During the two-day visit, the 68th Special Forces Brigade delegation had the opportunity to observe part of the training of the SOR in the shooting house “Wolf” at the TA “Krivolak” where live-fire exercise in case of intrusion in premises was conducted. In addition, the delegation visited the training of the Rangers Battalion at the TA “Krivolak” and the Special Forces Battalion (SFB) in Demir Kapija region. Furthermore, SFB demonstrated their capabilities in the area of alpinism and moving through difficult-to-access terrain. At the end of the visit, they also discussed the future forms and dates for cooperation between the Special Forces of both Armies.
Previously, in December, 2017, an ARM delegation led by the Commander of the SOR, Brigadier General Orce Jordev visited the 68th Special Forces Brigade in the Republic of Bulgaria.
