Today in “NH Straso Pindzur” barracks in Petrovec 25 year’s jubilee of Transport Helicopters Squadron operability was celebrated (THS).
The ceremony was attended by Air Brigade Commander (AB), Colonel Robert Maleshanski, Deputy Commander Lieutenant Colonel Stojko Pejoski, Heads of the sections, Commanders and subordinate AB units Commanders.
The ceremony was opened by the Commander of the THS, Lieutenant Colonel Igorcho Stojmenovski who emphasized that THS is an inseparable part of the Air Brigade.
The AB Commander said: “Rare are the cases in which military assets are maintained and have been successfully operational for 25 years, and we are perhaps the only ones that managed to maintain Helicopter Mi-17 to perform key activities and tasks for the Army.”
It was an honor for young colleagues to meet and get acquainted with the historical crew members: Major Goran Zdravkovski, Captain First Class Mome Stojanovski and Master Sergeant First Class Zoran Maljcev, who on this day 25 years ago at 18:00 had the honor to first fly the Mi-17 helicopter owned by the Army.
The ceremony ended with a joint photography of the first crew in front of the first Army transport helicopter.
