The presenting of the certificates during the ceremony for the successful completion of the exercise “REGEX 19” marked the end of the so far biggest computer assisted exercise in the Republic of North Macedonia.
At the ceremony, the director of the exercise, Colonel Zvonko Majstorski did not hide his satisfaction with the results that were achieved during the exercise and pointed out that besides the numerous challenges, the main goal of the exercise was accomplished – training of the members of the armies of the host country and the NATO partners for planning, organizing and carrying out an international exercise at a brigade level in accordance with the NATO standards and procedures.
The exercise “REGEX 19” is the first exercise of this type that was carried out in our country and it was completed with excellent results. Members of 22 countries were included in the planning process of the exercise, and more than 220 representatives of 18 countries participated in the carrying out of the exercise. Three of these countries are NATO members (NATO member countries are part of the Joint Force Command Naples and in this exercise they have the role of mentors and supervisors of the planning process and the process of carrying out the exercise in accordance with the Collective Training and Exercise Directive).
During the five-day exercise, they carried out 6 events, 21 incidents and 89 additional security situations.
The experience that was gained in this exercise will be completely used in the work in a multinational staff at a brigade level, as well as in the cooperation, coordination and communication with the state and local authorities, international, government and non-government organizations. An additional advantage is the training of the key personnel in the implementation of the standard operational procedures and the response of the personnel in different situations they might come across in case of deployment in international missions.
