Under the motto “The Sound of Cooperation” and “The Sound of the Alliance”, the military orchestra of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, in the spirit of cooperation together with the members of the military orchestras of the armies in the region, traditionally before the New Year, performed a joint concert at the Army House in Skopje.
The orchestra, comprised of members of the military orchestras of the armies of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Croatia, led by the conductors of the three orchestras performed a memorable hour-long concert prior to the New Year holiday season.
After a few opening words by the Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and one minute silence paying respect to the victims of the recent catastrophic earthquake in Albania, the audience in the full concert hall of the Army House as well as the viewers of the first channel of the national TV, MTV, had an opportunity to enjoy in the performance of compositions of famous musicians.
The repertoire, which listed popular compositions by Meredith Willson, Duke Ellington, Naohiro Iwai, Dmitri Shostakovich and others, received a loud applause, so the orchestra performed a few more songs, which confirmed the excellent cooperation and the synchronization between the members of the three Armies.
The trilateral pre-New Year Concert was attended by high officials, both state and military, and among them were: the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, the Prime Minister , Zoran Zaev, the Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, state ministers, parliament members, representatives of the defence diplomatic corps accredited to the Republic of North Macedonia, representatives of religious communities, active and retired generals of the Army, representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the General Staff, commands and units of the Army and other guests.
This concert of the military orchestras of the armies we cooperate with is a project within the regional army cooperation in order to enhance the same and bring the Army closer to the citizens. The project has become a tradition and it was performed for the first time last year when our military orchestra performed with the orchestras of the Republic of Bulgaria and Montenegro.
