The first phase of the project for upgrading the national capacities for managing small arms, light weapons (SALW) and explosive materials, based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, OSCE and the Republic of North Macedonia, was organized by the General Staff of the Army in the period from 26.09-07.10.2022.
The activity was carried out by a mobile training team from the armed forces of the Republic of Austria.
The aim of the project is to improve the general safety of the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia by upgrading the capacities of all relevant parties in the field of handling SALW and explosive materials and minimizing the risks arising from the inappropriate and unprofessional management and storage of SALW and explosive materials at the ammunition storage sites.
Representatives from the Army, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Protection and Rescue Directorate and the NGO “Explosives and Weapons Organization” from Skopje participated in the activity.
