The admission of 200 professional soldiers for service in the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia was marked with a military ceremony in the barracks “Ilinden”.
The employment contracts were given to the newly recruited professional soldiers by the Minister of Defence, Slavjanka Petrovska, the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, the Deputy Minister of Defence, Bashkim Hasani, the Deputy Chief of General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin, the State Secretary in MOD, Vladimir Anchev, the Director of the General Staff, Major General Zoran Mileski and the Commander of the Training and Doctrines Command, Colonel Vasko Kokolanski.
The Minister of Defence, while addressing the newly recruited soldiers, told them that it is an honour to be a part of the Army in which everyone would jointly contribute to the acquired reputation without exception. At the same time, she expressed confidence that the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff would undertake all activities that were within their competence to improve living and working conditions.
During the application process, 900 candidates were registered, out of the 200 admitted, 184 are men and 16 are women, all ethnicities being represented. After completing the basic military training at the Training and Doctrine Command, they will begin their professional development and military career appointed in the units of the Army.
