The Army servicemen participating in the multinational exercise “Immediate Response 23” presented combined land activities: “A multinational company in attack, supported by air and anti-armor support”, at the TA “Krivolak”, before state and military leaders and large number of distinguished visitors.
The sophisticated “Project Origin” robotic vehicle was also included in the training activities. It is on trial by the US Army and fired a Javelin anti-armor missile, which is part of its armament, for the first time.
The exercise “Immediate Response 23” is the largest multinational exercise this year in the Republic of North Macedonia. It began on May 22, and about 1,850 members of the Armies of 4 NATO countries and one partner country are participating in it: the Republic of North Macedonia, the United States of America, Albania, Montenegro and as a partner for peace country Kosovo.
The distinguished visitors day was attended by: the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, the President of the Government, Dimitar Kovachevski, the Minister of Defense, Slavjanka Petrovska, the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, MPs from the Assembly, Government Ministers, ambassadors from NATO member countries and partners, generals from the US Army for Europe and Africa and from NATO commands, generals in the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, senior military and civilian representatives of the armed forces and the ministries of defense of the countries participating in the exercise and NATO, defense attachés accredited in the country and other guests.
The exercise is of particular importance to our Army in terms of sharing knowledge, capabilities and skills, improving interoperability and mutual operational synchronicity between NATO and partner armies, across a wide range of near-simultaneous operations, conducted in multiple zones, demonstrating the unity of the NATO Alliance for the security of each member country, as well as confirmation of the capabilities of TA “Krivolak” to perform a variety of training operations and use a variety of combat assets and armaments.
