A delegation from the General Staff of the Army and the Ministry of Defence, led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, which also included State Secretary Elizabeta Chupovska Ristova, commemorated the 23rd anniversary of the deaths of ten members of the reserve forces of the Army by laying a wreath of fresh flowers at the memorial site in Karpalak.
The 23rd anniversary of the deaths of the ten members was also commemorated in Prilep, where a delegation from the General Staff of the Army and the Ministry of Defense laid wreaths of fresh flowers at the Karpalak complex.
At the memorial site in the “Mirche Acev” barracks in Prilep, delegations from the Army and the Ministry of Defence, the families of the fallen, representatives of the associations of defenders, Prilep local government representatives, and citizens paid their respects to the fallen defenders.
During the attack on the army convoy on the Skopje-Tetovo road, near the village of Grupchin at the Karpalak area, on August 8 2001, the following members of the Army reserve forces from the Prilep garrison, lost their lives: Marko Despotoski, Nane Naumoski, Sasho Kitanoski, Branko Sekuloski, Goran Minoski, Erdovan Shabanoski, Ljube Grujoski, Darko Veljanoski, Pece Sekuloski, and Vebi Rushidoski.
