From May 12 to 21, service personnel of the Military Police Battalion (MPBn) participated in the international military police exercise “Beyond Horizon 25” at the Novo Selo Training Area in the Republic of Bulgaria.
In addition to our participants, members of military police units from eight other countries Bulgaria, Canada, Romania, Greece, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, and the United States also took part in the exercise. These countries maintain established military police cooperation with our Army. The exercise aimed to enhance synchronization and coordination of capabilities in conducting military police tasks among the armed forces of the nine counties participating in the exercise.
As in previous instances, the MPBn members, with their professional and responsible conduct, contributed to a strong affirmation and promotion of the unit’s and the Army’s international reputation.
During the exercise, participants conducted training on various topics, including: mobile checkpoints, protection and escort of high-ranking military officials, cordon and search procedures, combat skills, handling of prisoners of war, crowd control operations, and more. A high level of interoperability and ability to integrate into international forces in high-intensity operations was demonstrated.
Participation in such international military police exercises enables further development of procedures, tactics, and techniques for organizing and conducting military police tasks in accordance with NATO military police community standards.
