Today, at the “Ilinden” barracks in Skopje, delegations from the Army General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, and the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, laid wreaths with fresh flowers in front of the memorial dedicated to the fallen members of the Special Forces Battalion.
In honor of the fallen service members Staff Sergeant Robert Petkovski, Sergeant Boban Trajkovski, Sergeant Mile Janevski, and Sergeant Igor Kosteski, wreaths were also laid by members of the Special Forces Battalion, the commands of the Army units, former members of the Special Forces Battalion, representatives of the Ministry of Interior units, and family members of the fallen Army personnel.
On this day 24 years ago, near the village of Vejce, in the vicinity of Tetovo, eight members of the security forces died defending the homeland.
