Today, 26 September 2025, the Deputy Chief of the Army General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin, attended the Distinguished Visitors Day of the multinational exercise “Quick Response 2025 ” in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the visit, General Nuredin met with the Commander of EUFOR ALTEA, Major General Florin-Marian Barbu, as well as other senior representatives present at the event. At the meeting they discussed about the situation in the region, as well as the contribution of our Army to the EUFOR ALTEA mission.
Additionally, General Nuredin visited the members of our Army deployed in the EUFOR ALTEA mission, who also participated in the exercise. On this occasion, the General expressed his recognition for their professional engagement and dedication in carrying out their duties within the mission.
Exercise “Quick Response” is a multinational military exercise conducted under the mandate of Operation EUFOR ALTHEA, and demonstrates the strong commitment of the international community to maintaining a safe and secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1575 (2004) and subsequent renewals.
This exercise has been held annually since 2012 with the aim of improving the readiness, interoperability and joint operational capabilities of the armed forces of the participating countries. The exception was 2014, when, as a result of the severe floods that hit Bosnia and Herzegovina, all deployed EUFOR troops were engaged to support national authorities in the framework of a joint humanitarian engagement, “Operation Joint Effort 2014”.
