Today, (October 21, 2025) at the ATA “Krivolak”, – a joint exercise with live-fire drill was successfully conducted by the 1st IBde and the Italian Armed Forces service personnel in the presence of the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade (1st IBde), Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, the Defense Attaché of Italy, Colonel Christian Margheriti, representatives of the Italian Armed Forces, a representative from the Operations Command, section chiefs from the command and staff of the 1st Infantry Brigade, and unit commanders from within the brigade’s structure.
The exercise, themed “Reinforced Infantry Company in Attack,” is in accordance with the Bilateral Defense Cooperation Plan between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Italy.
Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski addressed the attendees and stressed out the significance of the exercise emphasizing the importance of strengthening future cooperation between the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Italian Armed Forces.
Throughout the training, members of the 1st Infantry Brigade demonstrated a high level of professionalism, readiness, and capability, conducting various forms of training, familiarization with the tactical and technical characteristics of the weapons, equipment, and assets used by both armies, and successfully executing a complex joint tactical exercise within a short timeframe.
The participants also demonstrated excellent training and interoperability with other NATO member forces, contributing to enhanced synchronization and mutual understanding among the Alliance’s armies, while also promoting the advanced capabilities and training potential of the Army Training Area “Krivolak”.
Joint exercises such as this represent a continuous effort by the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia to expand expertise, strengthen operational capabilities, and maintain readiness to perform assigned missions at any time, in coordination with NATO Allies.
