In the period from 8 to 21 October, 2025, in accordance with the bilateral defense cooperation plan with the Republic of Italy, personnel of the First Infantry Brigade (1st IBde) began the joint tactical exercise with the Italian Armed Forces at Army Training Area (ATA) “Krivolak” and Training Ground ”Pepelishte”.
Deputy Commander of the 1st IBde, Colonel Blerim Ismaili, addressed the formation and the personnel responsible for the start of the exercise, emphasizing the importance of the cooperation between the two armies.
The aim of the exercise is to share acquired knowledge and exchange experiences through the joint execution of assigned tasks according to exercise plan; to improve interoperability and training standards; to develop mutual operational synchronization between the two NATO – armies across a wide spectrum of tasks; and to promote the capabilities that the ATA “Krivolak” offers for conducting large-scale training activities.
Various training activities will be carried out, including familiarization with the tactical and technical characteristics of weapons, equipment, and resources available to units of both armies that will be used during the training. Individual live-fire drills and grenade launcher firing will also be conducted.
The training program will conclude with a joint tactical exercise that includes a live-fire drill at the company level.
