The Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, who is on a three-day working visit to Romania and the Republic of Bulgaria, visited the members of the Macedonian contingent deployed to NATO “Forward Land Forces – FLF”.
Yesterday, November 13, as part of his visit to Romania, at the invitation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Romanian Armed Forces, General Gheorghiță Vlad, he attended the Day for Distinguished Guests of the multinational exercise “Dacian Fall 2025”, which took place at the Cincu Training Centre.
The multinational exercise “Dacian Fall 2025”, which takes place from October 20 to November 13, brought together around 5,000 soldiers from 10 NATO member countries, confirming the readiness, cooperation and unity of the Alliance.
During his visit to Romania, General Lafchiski also held meetings with the Commander of the Multinational Corps South-East, Lieutenant General Christian Dan, and the Commander of the Headquarters Multinational Division South-East, Major General Dorin Toma, where the professionalism and contribution of the Macedonian soldiers deployed as part of the NATO “Forward Land Forces – FLF” were highlighted.
As part of the visit to the Republic of Bulgaria, the army delegation led by Major General Lafchiski held meetings with the Commander of the Joint Forces Command of the Republic of Bulgaria, Major General Stanimir Hristov, the Commander of the “Pinerolo” Brigade, Brigadier General Paolo Vedove, and the Commander of the Multinational Battle Group in the Republic of Bulgaria, Colonel Mattia Scirocco. During the meetings, the full interoperability of the Macedonian contingent with the other NATO forces within this formation was confirmed. Afterwards, he visited the Army personnel serving as part of the NATO Multinational Battle Group in Novo Selo, where he acknowledged their commitment and dedication in carrying out their tasks.
The Army’s contribution to NATO activities in Romania and the Republic of Bulgaria began at the end of 2022 with the deployment of two of its units to these countries, where, together with the service personnel of the Allied Armed Forces, they form an integral part of the collective deterrence and defense system.
