The President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, visited the Army service personnel at the “Aleksо Demnievski Bauman” barracks in Veles today.
As part of the visit, President Siljanovska-Davkova was briefed by the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier General Lulzim Nuredini, on the mission and tasks of the Command. She then had the opportunity to directly learn about part of its capacities, including the Canine Training Center, the Simulation Center, and the Center for Developing Doctrines, Rules, Guidelines, and Lessons Learned.
On this occasion, President Siljanovska-Davkova also visited newly enlisted professional soldiers who are undergoing basic military training at this barracks. Congratulating them on the New Year holidays, she emphasized that she was pleased to begin the new year among the Army serving personnel, noting that, based on what was presented, the great love and interest in this profession is what enabled the soldiers to adapt so quickly to the new environment.
President Davkova also expressed her satisfaction with what was presented during the visit, stating: “The Army is an impressive institution, one that has a vision, a clearly defined mission, knows what it is doing in all its centers, knows where it wants to go, and with these young people has a guaranteed future.” She emphasized that today’s visit is yet another confirmation of why the Army is one of the institutions that enjoys the highest level of public trust.
During the visit, President Siljanovska-Davkova presented the Training and Doctrine Command with a collection of books from various fields, which, as she noted, “will encourage a critical perspective on what is happening in the world, and in doing so, the soldiers will become stronger, more educated, and more tolerant individuals.” This collection of books is intended to enrich and enhance the literary fund of the Central Military Library in Skopje, which is an integral part of this command.
The visit traditionally ended with a joint lunch of President Siljanovska-Davkova and General Lafchiski with the soldiers and officers at the “Aleksо Demnievski Bauman” barracks.
