Today, 14 January 2026, at the Army General Staff, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, and the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of the United States of America to our country, Angela Aggeler, on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mandate in our country.
During the meeting, Minister Misajlovski emphasized that in the past period, the cooperation with Ambassador Aggeler and the U.S. Embassy was at an excellent level, due to which, the strategic partnership between our two countries has been continuously strengthened. On the occasion of the end of Ambassador Aggeler’s mandate, Misajlovski expressed his gratitude for her professional support, sincere dedication and personal engagement, which contributed to deepening the mutual understanding and friendship and provided additional stimulation in building this important partnership. He wished her success and personal fulfillment in her future career.
General Lafchiski expressed his sincere gratitude to Ambassador Aggeler, highlighting her importance in strengthening and deepening the mutual trust and cooperation between the two nations. At the same time, General Lafchiski emphasized the contribution of Ambassador Aggeler and her team in supporting the Army through the implementation of numerous support programs in various fields.
Ambassador Aggeler, who served in our country from 2022, emphasized the honor of working with people she deeply respects, including General Lafchiski and Minister Misajlovski, on issues significant to NATO and the region. In conclusion, she expressed her gratitude to the members of the Army, the Ministry of Defense and the team from the U.S. Embassy for their continuous support during her presence here.
As a sign of appreciation for the successful and fruitful cooperation, a ceremony was organized at the Army General Staff, during which Minister Misajlovski and General Lafchiski presented gifts to Ambassador Aggeler.
Today’s meeting with Ambassador Aggeler was also attended by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense, Elizabeta Chupevska-Ristovska, the Director of the Army General Staff, Brigadier General Orce Jordev, the Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier General Lulzim Nuredini, the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Dejan Chiplakovski, as well as other members of the Army and the Ministry of Defense.
