Today, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski held a meeting at the General Staff with the Deputy Commander of NATO Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples), Lieutenant General Peter K. Scott, who is visiting the Army.
The meeting reaffirmed the excellent and continuous cooperation between the Army and JFC Naples. Additionally, current security challenges, the Army’s modernization and equipment process, and the role of the Army in European and collective security through participation in peacekeeping missions, operations, and NATO activities abroad were discussed.
As part of the visit, General Scott also met with the Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovski, where NATO-led missions and operations in Kosovo (KFOR) and on NATO’s eastern flank were discussed, as well as the continued support from JFC Naples for the Macedonian contingents engaged in these missions.
On this occasion, General Scott confirmed the excellent cooperation and established lasting relations with the Army, emphasizing that maintaining and strengthening ties between JFC Naples and the countries within its area of responsibility is of utmost importance for building mutual trust and understanding, thereby advancing regional partnerships.
As part of the program, General Scott visited the Army Training Area “Krivolak”, where he was acquainted with the capabilities and capacities for conducting training and complex military exercises, which have so far been validated through numerous international training activities with allies and partners.
