In the period from 13 April to 17 April, 2026, in the barracks “Skenderbeg” in Uroshevac, Republic of Kosovo, members of the First Infantry Battalion (1st IBn), within the First Infantry Brigade (1st IBde), took part in the international competition “Best Soldier 2026.”
In addition to our team, military teams from Kosovo, the United States, Albania, Italy, Croatia and the United Kingdom also participated in the competition.
The competitors measured their abilities in several disciplines, including physical fitness, rifle shooting and marksmanship, land navigation, overcoming a tactical obstacle course, terrain observation and marches.
The competition represents a significant platform for testing and demonstrating the professionalism, discipline, and endurance of soldiers, as well as an opportunity for exchanging experiences with the representatives of NATO member countries and partner armies.
With their participation, the members of the 1st Infantry Battalion once again confirmed their high level of physical readiness, as well as their strong competitive and sport spirit, which is a recognizable characteristic of the personnel of the Army.
