Today, 22 April, 2026, at the barracks “Jane Sandanski” in Shtip, the service personnel of the Second Infantry Battalion (2nd IBn), within the First Infantry Brigade (1st IBde), marked the Patron Day of the barracks with a military ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, together with a delegation from the 2nd Infantry Battalion.
The commemoration began with the laying fresh flowers and paying tribute to the great Macedonian revolutionary Jane Sandanski. This year marks 111 years since his death, and the barracks has borne his name since the establishment of the Army.
In the keynote address, the significance of the life and work of Jane Sandanski was highlighted, noting that honoring his legacy contributes to preserving historical heritage for future generations.”
