In the early morning hours, in coordination with all involved entities, approximately a hundred Army members and two helicopters MI 8/17 of the Air Force WING, began a coordinated and directed engagement in putting out the wildfire in wider Negotino region and on mountain Serta.
This morning the Army General Staff informed that following the order issued by the President and the Commander-in Chief of the Armed Forces, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, to engage the Army in dealing with the wildfires in Negotino region, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski ordered engagement of all necessary capacities of the Army.
The Army, as stated in the announcement, in accordance with its mission and tasks remains maximally ready to perform its constitutional obligation and mission task, which includes its engagement to help citizens and institutions in dealing with natural disasters whenever necessary.
Late last night, upon request by the Negotino Crisis Centre, the Government declared crisis situation.
