As part of the celebrations of the 18th of August – the Day of the Army, there was a traditional blood donation. A large number of the army personnel volunteered and donated blood at the today’s blood donation event in the military barracks Ilinden in Skopje.
The blood donation is one of the planned activities to celebrate August 18 – the Day of the Army. Besides the army personnel of the Skopje garrison and the Ministry of Defense, the personnel from the other garrisons also demonstrated their solidarity and the spirit of humanitarianism by donating blood.
92 blood units were donated at the event which was organized with the cooperation of Red Cross and GH 8th of September, and coordinated by the Institute of Transfusion Medicine .
According to the annual plan for blood donation, the army personnel continuously donate blood throughout the year, which best demonstrates their spirit of humanitarianism and solidarity towards saving lives and helping people.
