Today, on the occasion of the NATO Day, as part of the activities to mark the three – year anniversary of our full membership in the Alliance, numerous citizens had the opportunity to visit the Ilinden barracks in Skopje, Jane Sandanski barracks in Shtip and Kuzman Josifovski Pitu barracks in Tetovo.
At the open house, visitors were demonstrated part of the equipment and means, as well as military – demonstration exercises, which are part of the training of the units stationed in these barracks. Visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with weapons, equipment and training through direct communication with the Army members.
The Minister of Defence, Slavjanka Petrovska, together with numerous citizens attended the open house in Jane Sandanski barracks in Shtip. They observed the activities undertaken by the 2nd Infantry Battalion, as well as the demonstration of the light armoured vehicles JLTV Oshkosh, which caught the interest of the visitors.
The demonstration of the equipment and training caught young people’s attention. The majority of visitors were young people for whom a military career and its benefits, as part of the NATO family, may be their career of choice.
Today’s activity is part of the Civil – Military Cooperation of the Army of Republic of North Macedonia, where activities, equipment and means, as part of the modernization process, are traditionally demonstrated to the citizens. The Army enables direct access for all citizens who are interested in the military demonstration exercises, especially on the occasion of different celebrations.
