On 12, June 2014, the VIPs and the Media Day was realized at the Marche-en-Femenne, at the exercise “Fast Lion” in the Kingdom of Belgium.
The VIPs Day of the exercise was attended by the Minister of Defense M.A.Talat Xhaferi, Commander of the 1st mechanized infantry brigade Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski, the high representative of the Republic of Macedonia in NATO and EU, Brigadier General Branko Drakalski, and other representatives from the MoD, ARM and theh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event started with a briefing by the commander of the European Union Battle Group (EUBG 2014-2) Colonel Philip Buke, who pointed out that the battle group is a credible multinational quick reaction force, and that the same represents a powerful tool in response to possible crisis points. He also exerted that the EUBG 2014-2 is certified and can be used in missions under the sponsorship of the European Union.
Later was given a dynamic and a static presentation of the possibilities of the EUBG 2014-2, in which part of the force protection company took part with a presentation of securing the base entrance and vehicle search.
On 13, June 2014 the force protection company of the European Union battle group is returning to Republic of Macedonia.
