From 12-16 December 2016, there was an initial planning conference (IPC) for the military exercise “Macedonian Flash -13/3 Joint Reaction -17” at the Joint Operations Command in Kumanovo. Planning of the exercise was based on the Plan for evaluation of declared units in accordance with NATO Operational Capabilities Concept Bi-SCD 75-003.
Many countries actively took part in the initial planning conference including representatives of the armies from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Macedonia as part of the A5 Initiative (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro) and representatives of the National Guard of Minnesota, USA armed forces.
At the opening of the initial planning conference, the aims and objectives of the military exercise “Macedonian Flash -13/3 Joint Reaction -17” were stated including the primary and the secondary aims. In addition, the necessary documents for developing the second module of the scenario were written, too.
During the conference the following activities will be conducted:
- Initial identification of the Major Activities List;
- Writing of the initial plan for the exercise scenario;
- Task identification and designation of deadlines to primary and secondary training units;
- Identification of composition of units and equipment for their participation in the military-police exercise “Joint Reaction -17”.
The planning process will continue with an Operational Concept Workshop which will take place from the 20-24 of February, 2017.
