In the period from 12th to 16th of May 2014 at the “Chede Filipovski-Dame” barracks in Kichevo, a situational-tactical field exercises “Fast Lynx 14” will be carried out. Self-assessment level 2 of the mechanized infantry company in the role of company for force protection for the European Union battle group (EUBG 2014-2) is planned for this exercise.
During the day, in Kichevo, a military ceremony was held on which the commander of the first mechanized infantry brigade (1stMIB), Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski officially declared open the exercise open.
Also today, in Kumanovo and Petrovec, meetings between the EUBG 2014-2 Commander of the Army of the Kingdom of Norway, Colonel Philip Bouquet, the deputy commander of the Joint Operations Command Brigadier General Muhamet Racaj and the Commander of the 1st MIB were held.
The main goal of the exercise is to create realistic conditions in accordance with the current security challenges to promote combat readiness of the mechanized infantry company. The exercise represents preparation for participation in the exercise “Fast Lion 2014” on which the assessment of the European Union Battle Group will be conducted in the period from 02 June to 13. June 2014 in Belgium where the declared EUBG company from the Macedonian Army will participate.
The exercise creates an environment which provides conditions for presenting the ability to fulfill the mission assigned by the declared unit and its ability for smooth integration within the EU-led operations.
