Today’s military ceremony at the “Pepelishte” training center marked the beginning of the multi-naitonal exercise “Immediate Response 23”, which will be held from May 22 to June 2, 2023 at the TA “Krivolak.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff in the Operations Command, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, the Commander of the First Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski, representatives from the Operations Command and representatives of the countries participating in the exercise.
The primary responsibility officer for the exercise, Lieutenant Colonel Jonche Lazarevski, addressed the participants emphasizing that the exercise “Immediate Response 23” will strengthen and improve the cooperation between the participating countries, it will build trust and understanding for better cooperation and coordination in the region, and it will promote better interoperability.
About 1,800 members of the Armies of the Republic of North Macedonia, the United States, the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Montenegro and the security forces of Kosovo will participate in the exercise. The aim of the exercise is to improve allied military capabilities, interoperability of allies and partners, and by demonstrating high readiness to influence the deterrence of any type of malicious activities by potential adversaries.
