On the “Krivolak” barrack square at the “Strela” camp, a military ceremony for a formal opening of the multinational drill “Decisive Strike 21” was held which officially marked the beginning of the activities of this drill, where military compositions from the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, the United States of America, Bulgaria and Greece will be demonstrating readiness for performing mutual operations.
In his addressing, the Commander of the Operations Command which is the carrier of the drill activities, Brigadier General Pavle Arsoski pointed out that throughout the “Decisive Strike 21” drill that is part of the big “Defender Europe 21” drill, the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia shows that we, as an Army are prepared to act together with our partners and allies in a coordinate way.
When addressing the participants of the drill, the highest NATO military representative, Brigadier General Jonathan Chestnut pointed out that the mutual and hard work, the maintenance of collective spirit, the unity, and the solidarity is what makes this alliance special.
The director of the drill, Colonel Blazhe Nikolovski, emphasized that the success from the realization of “Decisive Strike 21” is in the hands of all the participants in the drill, and that hard work is the only thing that will increase our experience, knowledge, and interoperability.
Prior to the drill, few-month individual and collective field preparations were done in different situations with the aim of successfully realizing the upcoming given tasks in the drill.
The objective of the drill is to share gained knowledge and exchange experience between the Armed Forces of participant countries, through mutual realization of tasks given throughout the drill, improvement of the level of interoperability of declared compositions, drill with allied armies, the building of a mutual operative synchronization between the NATO armies through a wide specter of simultaneous operations, as well as promotion of possibilities that the “Krivolak” barrack square offers for the realization of drill activities on a broad scale.
The Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier General Metodi Hadzi Janev, The US Defense Attaché in the Republic of North Macedonia, Colonel Peter Rowell, The Defense Attaché of Bulgaria, Lieutenant Colonel Plamen Nikolov and the Defense Attaché of Greece, Colonel Georgios Akriotis all attended the opening.
