Today, 1 June, 2025, the Open Day of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia was held on the main square in Kavadarci, attracting a large number of citizens who showed great interest in the event. The activity is part of the international military exercise Immediate Response 25 (IR 25).
The event was attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, the U.S. Defense Attaché, Colonel Daniel Squires, the Mayor of Kavadarci, Mitko Janchev, and other guests. Citizens had the opportunity to directly meet Army personnel and expressed their appreciation for the organization of the event.
As part of the Open Day, equipment and weaponry of the Army were displayed, as well as those from the units of the countries participating in the exercise, including the armored “JLTV” vehicles, the “Husky” engineering vehicle, the mine detection and demining robot, CBRN equipment, infantry weapons, and more.
The Open Day, among other things, demonstrates the alliance between our Army and the armies of NATO and partner countries, as a strong bond built on the principles of collective defense, solidarity, and the protection of peace and security.
The international exercise IR 25, conducted at the Army Training Area “Krivolak”, is part of the Defender 25 exercise and includes more than 2200 members of the armed forces of the Republic of North Macedonia, the United States, Albania, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, the United Kingdom, Austria, and Kosovo.
The activities for the exercise Immediate Response 25 (IR 25) will continue in the coming days.
