Members of several ARM units together with members of the Armed Forces from another 23 countries from NATO and Partnership for Peace (PfP), today officially started the activities of the international exercise “Anaconda 16”, which lasts until 17th of June, and will be carried out at several locations in the Republic of Poland.
The commencement of the international exercise “Anaconda 16” was officially marked today, by a ceremony at the National Defence University in Warsaw, Poland, as well as at the places where the units are stationed. “Anaconda 16” is among the largest exercises organized in Europe in the recent decades, with the participation of 31,000 soldiers of all branches of NATO and PfP armies.
ARM participates with 157 members, composed of an infantry company, a military police platoon, members of the Special Operations Regiment and staff personnel. In the days that follow, equally with other participants, ARM members will demonstrate compatibility with NATO standards in performing complex combat operations.
In fact, interoperability, cooperation among the member states of NATO and PfP, and building of mutual trust for joint participation in international joint operations is one of the main purposes of performing this exercise, organized by the Army of the United States in Europe and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
Participating in this major joint exercise ARM, as hitherto, demonstrates its capability to implement NATO standards and operational procedures, and to equally participate in all types of complex exercises and peace and security support operations together with the partnering NATO member states.
