The Army Chief of the General Staff (GS), Major General Sashko Lafchiski, held a meeting today with Canadian Armed Forces, Director General International Security Policy, Major General Gregory Smith.
At the meeting, held at the GS, they discussed the bilateral cooperation with the Canadian Armed Forces (AF), demonstrated through joint participation in military exercises and trainings, and also by taking part in the activities of NATO multinational forces in Latvia.
Among other issues, they talked about the international exercise “Maple Arch 2024”, which is supported and sponsored by the Canadian AF. This year we are the host country of the exercise, celebrating its 25th anniversary jubilee.
During the meeting both parties expressed readiness to further this inter-army cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
