On 4 November 2025, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, held a meeting with the Chief of Staff of NATO-led KFOR mission in Kosovo, Rear Admiral Maximilian Clarke, who was on his first working visit to the General Staff.
The meeting covered topics arising from mutual cooperation and of common interest, such as security challenges in the region and the mission’s area of responsibility, as well as jointly planned activities with KFOR forces.
Admiral Clarke expressed his gratitude for the contribution of the Macedonian soldiers to the KFOR mission and emphasized the dedication of our personnel in maintaining stability and security in the region and the area of responsibility.
For more than four years, the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia has been directly participating in the KFOR mission with staff officers in the main headquarters and two security platoons in the Regional Command-West. Additionally, through the Host Nation Support Coordination Center, it provides logistical support to KFOR forces in carrying out customs and border procedures for NATO transports.
