The Deputy Chief of General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin leads the army delegation which, in the period from 18 July to 22 July, at the invitation of the defence and security industry the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom (UK), attends the International Airshow and the International Specialized Aviation Forum held in Farnborough, United Kingdom.
During the three-day program, at the Ministry of Defence, General Nuredin had an official meeting with the Deputy Chief of Staff, responsible for military strategy and operations, Lieutenant General Roland Walker, at which they discussed the mutual cooperation and the current security situation, with emphasis on the support from the UK Armed Forces which is particularly expressed in the area of training and preparation for operations, as well as the joint exercise activities.
At the same time, meetings were also held with representatives of certain renowned companies in military aviation, such as “Lockheed Martin” where the opportunities offered by these companies were presented.
The visit is part of the activities of the General Staff which consider the possibilities for modernization in accordance with the needs and priorities for equipping the Army as obligations which came from the strategic defence review and the long-term plan for development of the defence, with which the development of the aviation capacities and capabilities is planned by obtaining new platforms, as one of the conditions for meeting the NATO standards.
