A delegation from the Army and the Ministry of Defense, led by the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, and the State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense, Elizabeta Chupovska Ristova, paid a working visit to the Republic of Slovenia from October 21 to 22, 2025, where they participated in the first International Defense Exhibition and Conference.
During the event, General Lafchiski also attended a panel discussion on the topic “Strategy for the Development of the Defense Industry and Technological Base in the Republic of Slovenia,” where views and perspectives were exchanged on the future development of national defense capabilities, regional cooperation, and integration with the latest technological trends. Additionally, key technological innovations and solutions were presented, aimed at addressing modern security challenges and enhancing the operational capabilities of the armed forces.
The Army delegation also visited the “Edvard Peperko” barracks, where a presentation was organized showcasing some of the capabilities of the Slovenian Armed Forces, the Simulation and Training Center (SIMCEN), as well as a demonstration of the JLTV maintenance concept and the indoor shooting range. Furthermore, the delegation visited the NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence, which plays a key role in developing mountain warfare capabilities and provides support to NATO member states, partners, and other organizations through training, doctrine development, experimentation, and participation in multinational projects and operations.
The International Defense Exhibition and Conference was organized for the first time this year and provides an opportunity to become acquainted with the latest generation of defense technologies, as well as to gain a comprehensive overview of key innovations and solutions that open new prospects for the development of the defense industry.
