Today, the personnel of the Logistics Base (LB) marked 20 May, the day of the highest-level logistics unit in the Army, with a military ceremony held at the “Ilinden” barracks in Skopje. On this occasion, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, and the Commander of the Logistics Base, Colonel Muharem Muharemi, addressed the attendees.
In his speech, the Chief of the General Staff congratulated the personnel on their day and expressed pride in the achievements accomplished over the past period. He emphasized the unit’s role in managing the consequences of the fire in Kochani that occurred on 16 March this year. He also extended his recognition to the medical teams, the personnel from the Host Nation Support Coordination Center, and all other unit members.
“Dear members of the Logistics Base, your performance during the mentioned tasks and activities once again proved that logistical excellence is not only about resources but also about professionalism, discipline, and teamwork,” General Lafchiski stated.
Commander Muharemi highlighted that over the years, the Logistics Base has remained actively committed to fulfilling its mission and tasks through consistent and timely support. He also emphasized the importance of teamwork and collective capacity in accomplishing missions. “Your dedication, the level you have reached, and the established operational procedures are a guarantee for continued success,” he said.
As part of the celebration, several incentive measures were awarded to individuals and teams.
The ceremony was attended by the Director of the General Staff, Brigadier General Orce Jordev; the Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski; the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Lulzim Nuredini; the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski; the SEEBRIG Commander, Brigadier General Bilbil Bitri; representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff; retired generals; commanders of the Army commands and units; and other guests.
By decision of the President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, 20 May is marked as the Day of the Logistics Base in commemoration of the beginning of the Razlovci Uprising in 1876 and the initial logistical preparations for its start. The core mission of the LB is to plan, organize, coordinate, and provide logistics support to the commands and units of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia.
