Within the framework of the activity for realization of technical shooting of air targets “Challenge 2017” at the military training area “Krivolak”, a program for the Distinguished Visitors Day was held, attended by: the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Macedonia HE Dr Milan Jazbec, the Director of the Joint Operational Command Brigadier General Zoran Mileski, the Commander of the Logistics Brigade of the Army of the Republic of Slovenia, Brigadier General Milan Zhurman, the JOC Chief of Staff Brigadier General Azim Nuredin, the Commander of the First Mechanized Infantry Brigade Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski, the Commander of the Special Operations Regiment, Brigadier General Orce Jordev and other dignitaries.
The Commander of the Air Defence Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Trajche Denchevski and the Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Slovenia, Colonel Vincenc Arco, in their speeches, pointed out that in 2017, two activities were planned in the bilateral cooperation plan. The first was implemented in September 2017 in the Republic of Slovenia, when seven members of the Air Defence Battalion of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia were trained for the use of LPRS IGLA. The second activity is the technical firing with LPLS IGLA-S, which is being realized these days at the Krivolak training area.
In general, technical shootings are carried out in order to test and determine the adequacy of the rules and guidelines for the use of combat systems, as well as for testing the performance of combat systems and ammunition. Technical shootings are performed with combat systems that are being put into operation, combat systems that are in use, and combat systems which are in development. It is important to point out that technical shootings are carried out under ideal conditions, without any time limit, and are always evaluated by an expert committee.
The bilateral cooperation between the Army of the Republic of Macedonia and the Army of the Republic of Slovenia in the area of anti-aircraft defence started ten years ago, and this year for the seventh time a joint activity under the already known name “Challenge” was realized. In front of the guests, the participants of the technical shooting demonstrated excellent know-how and knowledge; all the fired missiles hit the targets with excellent precision, and in the end, the distinguished guests congratulated the participants for the successful realization of the shooting.
