At the Army General Staff, organized by Turkish Embassy in Republic of North Macedonia, an awards ceremony was held for army members who in the course of 2019 completed a course in Turkish language.
Deputy Chief of GS of the Army, Major General Azim Nuredin in his introductory speech expressed gratitude for continuous support received from the Republic of Turkey in military education, as well as gratitude to the Turkish Language Institute Yunus Emre for their support through language courses. At the same time he emphasized the benefit of learning Turkish language as a precondition for educating our members at military educational institutions in Turkey, which is of great importance for their further army career.
Turkish Ambassador to North Macedonia, Mrs. Tülin Erkal Kara, in her address looked back at the long-existing military cooperation between the two armies, especially in the area of military education and language courses. Underlining the fact that members of our army, who completed their military education in Turkey, hold high commanding positions in the army contributes even more to deepening of the mutual relationship.
Director of Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre, Mr. Serhat Kula said that since 2013 – 150 members of the Army attended Turkish language courses at their centre, 12 of which in this last cycle.
At the end of the ceremony members of the army with different ranks were awarded certificates for the completed language course, and they will have the opportunity after completing their education at military educational institutions in Turkey to transfer their lessons learned and experiences in their units.
Besides General Nuredin, Ambassador Tülin Erkal Kara and the Director of Yunus Emre Institute, Mr. Serhat Kula, today’s ceremony was attended by the Turkish Defence Attaché, Colonel Burhan Ürek and other representatives of Turkish Embassy in Skopje.
In the past a large number of army members who completed language courses successfully continued their education at military academies, master’s studies and courses in different military fields at top military schools in Turkey.
