As part of the activities for marking the 70th anniversary of the NATO Alliance formation and our progress towards NATO membership, many activities were organized and realized within the Week of NATO In the past few days by the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Army.
The main event was the mutual concert which was realized on April 4, at the National Philharmonic in Skopje, where besides our orchestra also the military orchestras from USA, UK, Greece and Republic of Slovenia had a fantastic performance of a selection of music compositions.
On 06.04.2019 there was a NATO athletic race which was held on the quay of river Vardar where in cooperation with the Athletic Federation, the Agency of Youth and Sport, the World Athletic Association, supported by the NATO sector for Public diplomacy, the City of Skopje and other companies and organizations approximately three hundred participants participated in a race of 5km for men and 3km for women.
On Sunday at the city park in Skopje there was an open day of the Army for the citizens where members of the Special Operations Regiment showed part of their martial arts skills to the citizens, the members of the Honour Guard Battalion gave a performance of the Egzercir act, the military orchestra performed several compositions, and a helicopter of the Army did a fly over the park.
Today at the House of ARM in cooperation with the Red Cross and the Institute of Transfusion Medicine there has been a blood donation action by the members of the Army units, where thank-you letters and acknowledgments have been awarded to the members of the Army who have donated blood more than 50 times.
Besides these activities open days are organized for the citizens of Prilep on April 5 and for the citizens of Kumanovo on April 9 where the citizens can see and hear more music acts by the military orchestra and also they can see the famous act of the Honours Guard Battalion the “Egzircir” and to see part of the exhibited army weapons and equipement.
