At today’s annual conference, the chief NCOs in the ARM commands and units gave briefing to the ARM Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski and commanders of ARM commands and units regarding the implemented and upcoming activities of the ARM NCO Corps.
General Velichkovski symbolically and for the first time awarded the insignia for the duty Chief and First Sergeant in the Army, in accordance with the Decree on exclusive emblem for belonging to the Army, the uniform, ranks, branches and services’ insignia, units’ insignia, and the manner and conditions on wearing them.
In a press statement, Chief Sergeant Ljupcho Stojkov said that today is a special day for the ARM NCO corps, having in mind that the insignia for the duty Chief and First Sergeant in the Army is awarded for the first time, in accordance with the Decree. He pointed out that for this position it is necessary for the NCO to complete NCO Academy in NATO partnership armies, and to have full legitimacy and expertise to be the ones who will forward the information.
NCO corps in the Army and the armies of NATO are especially important acting as competent coaches with developed leadership characteristics and skills, and they are one of the main pillars of carrying out military training. They are synonymous with professionalism, expertise and education; they exist to enable more efficient commanding. NCOs are leaders in their units and people most responsible for the training and readiness for the execution of any part of the upcoming missions.
Furthermore, in the following period the commanders of the subordinate commands and units are going to present the Command Sergeant Majors of the same commands and units with their insignia.
